Shapes, arrows and icons point viewers at what matters and give your text something to sit on. Ask the Agent: “Add an arrow pointing at the Save button.” · “Put a rounded blue box behind the headline.”

Do it yourself

Add a shape or icon

Select an overlay, click Insert and choose Rectangle, Ellipse, Polygon or Icon. Or press R and drag on the canvas to draw a rectangle.

Draw lines and paths

Choose Line, Arrow or Pen from Insert, or press L for a line or P for the pen while an overlay is selected. For a line or arrow, click where it starts, then click where it ends.
With the pen:
  1. Click to add points, or click and drag to make a curve.
  2. Click the first point to close the shape, or press Enter or Escape to finish an open path.
  3. Press Escape again to put the pen away.
Double-click a shape or path to edit its points.

Style it

Select a shape or line to see its controls in the top bar. For a dashed line, click Show Detail Panel, choose Dashed, then set Dash and Gap. To put an arrowhead on any line or path, click Arrow in the same panel. For an icon, click the icon in the top bar and type in Search icons… to swap it. Icon Size sets how big it is.
