This page is the complete shortcut guide for the current app behavior. It is grouped by workflow so you can find shortcuts the same way other professional tools do: navigation, playback, editing, transcript, chat, and specialized modes. Before You Start

Most shortcuts work only when focus is on the editor/timeline and not inside text inputs.
Command means Command on macOS.
This page is macOS-only.

Pro Mode Shortcuts

Toggle Pro mode	`Command + Shift + Backslash`	Turns Pro controls on/off.
Toggle templates popover	`S`	Pro mode only.
Insert text	`T`	Pro mode only.
Toggle image/video popover	`I`	Pro mode only.
Toggle library dialog	`Command + L`	Pro mode only.
Hold Shift for preview mode	`Shift` (hold)	Shift-hold preview behavior in timeline.

Skip Segment Mode Shortcuts

These work only while add skip segment mode is active.

Continuous fine seek backward	`Shift + Left Arrow` (hold)	Accelerates while held.
Continuous fine seek forward	`Shift + Right Arrow` (hold)	Accelerates while held.
Jump back 1 second	`Command + Shift + Left Arrow`	Large jump.
Jump forward 1 second	`Command + Shift + Right Arrow`	Large jump.
Add skip segment	`Enter`	Commits skip segment.
Exit skip mode	`Escape`	Leaves skip workflow.

Slide Canvas And Overlay Editing

These shortcuts apply when slide/canvas elements are selected in the editor canvas.

Duplicate selected items	`Command + D`	Duplicates selected slide elements/groups.
Group selected items	`Command + G`	Creates a layout group.
Ungroup selected layout group	`Command + Shift + G`	Requires a selected layout group.
Nudge selection	`Arrow keys`	Moves by 1px.
Nudge selection faster	`Shift + Arrow keys`	Moves by 10px.

The same arrow-key nudge behavior is used for captions when the captions resizer is selected.

Transcript Shortcuts

Transcript Panel Core

Toggle transcript free-edit mode	`Option + C`	Global transcript toggle.
Play clip at cursor	`Command + Enter`	Works in transcript editor context.
Regenerate clip at cursor	`Shift + Enter`	Works in transcript editor context.
Play/pause clip at cursor	`Option + Space`	Transcript keymap shortcut.
Alternate play/pause clip at cursor	`Option + Enter`	Alternate transcript shortcut.
Toggle bold word/selection	`Command + B`	Transcript text formatting behavior.

Free-Edit Constraints (Important)

While transcript free-edit mode is active:

Command + V paste is intentionally blocked.
Command + A select-all is intentionally blocked.
In standard and variable-webcam groups, typing is blocked; navigation/copy is still allowed.
Enter and Backspace/Delete use transcript-specific split/merge behaviors inside webcam recording groups.

Chat And Comments

Chat Panel

These shortcuts apply when a chart spreadsheet has focus.

Camera Editor Shortcut

These are primarily operational/internal and may change.

Where Shortcuts Are Blocked

Shortcut behavior is intentionally blocked or changed in these cases:

Focus is inside input, textarea, transcript editor (ProseMirror), right panel controls, or spreadsheet cells.
Collab generations dialog is open.
Basic trim modal is open.
Force-update modal is open (it captures and blocks keyboard events).
Mode-gated shortcuts are used outside their required mode (Pro mode, skip mode, transcript context, demo mode).

Troubleshooting

Shortcut does nothing

Click the timeline/canvas first, then retry. Most failures are focus-related.

Transcript shortcut behaves differently than timeline shortcut

Transcript keymaps are context-specific. Shortcuts like Command + Enter, Shift + Enter, and Option + Space work when the transcript editor has focus.

Enter in transcript does something unexpected

Enter in transcript is context aware and can split clips/chunks depending on where the cursor is. This is expected behavior.
