Overview

Use this workflow when camera content is recorded outside Hypersphere. Your goal is to import cleanly, align timing, and keep audio/video consistent. [insert screenshot of external footage upload flow with processing and insert options]

Before you start

  • Confirm file format, duration, and quality are suitable for your project.
  • Decide which scene each footage segment belongs to.
  • If audio is embedded, plan whether to keep it or replace it.

Steps

  1. Upload external footage and wait for processing readiness.
  2. Insert footage into the correct scene/track.
  3. Trim and align footage to script timing.
  4. Resolve audio strategy (keep embedded audio or use project narration).
  5. Run full-scene preview for sync and framing.

  • Audio strategy is consistent across the project.
  • Framing and pacing match adjacent clips.

Troubleshooting

Footage looks stretched or cropped

Adjust fit/fill and verify aspect ratio alignment before further edits.

Audio is out of sync

Align clip start offsets first, then fine-tune trims.

Footage does not appear in insert list

Wait for processing to finish and refresh the media state.
