Overview

Captions improve comprehension, accessibility, and retention. Use this page to generate captions, tune readability, and resolve sync issues. [insert screenshot of captions panel with timing controls and style options]

Before you start

  • Complete major timeline timing edits first.
  • Confirm narration audio is final enough for caption alignment.
  • Decide whether captions should be subtle or highly emphasized.

Steps

  1. Generate or import caption content.
  2. Verify baseline timing against spoken audio.
  3. Apply readable styles (size, contrast, position, active word behavior).
  4. Fix local timing drift on sections affected by trims/speed changes.
  5. Preview captions in normal playback and on target output size.

Check your result

  • Captions track speech accurately.
  • Text remains readable on your output format.
  • Caption behavior is consistent between editor and delivery output.

Troubleshooting

Captions are out of sync

Revisit recent timing edits first. Speed and trim operations are the most common source of drift.

Captions are hard to read

Increase contrast, simplify background clutter, and adjust placement away from busy UI.

Delivered subtitles differ from preview

Confirm the latest publish/export version and subtitle settings used for delivery.
