Overview

Good recording quality removes half of your editing work later. Use this guide to capture footage that is clean, readable, and ready for timeline edits. [insert screenshot of recording setup panel with source selection, resolution options, and record button]

Before you start

  • Close notifications, chat popups, and unrelated browser tabs.
  • Set your product/app to the exact state you want viewers to see.
  • Confirm aspect ratio and resolution match your target output.

Steps

  1. Choose recording scope
    • Record the exact window or display needed for the walkthrough.
  2. Run a short test clip
    • Verify text readability, cursor visibility, and frame smoothness.
  3. Record in sections
    • Stop at natural chapter points to simplify later trimming.
  4. Wait for processing
    • Upload complete and processing complete are separate states.
  5. Insert into timeline
    • Place the recording in the right scene, then do a quick preview pass.

Check your result

  • Screen text is readable at normal playback speed.
  • The recording appears as ready and inserts cleanly into timeline.
  • No major visual noise (notifications, accidental windows) remains.

Troubleshooting

Recording uploaded but is not editable yet

Wait for processing readiness before advanced edits. Refresh the asset state once if it appears stuck.

Output is blurry

Re-record with higher source resolution and consistent display scaling.

Cursor or key actions are hard to follow

Use zoom/callout overlays in editing, or re-record with clearer pointer movement.
