# Export a video file

> Download your video as a 4K file.

Export when you need a video file to upload anywhere or keep.

**Ask the Agent:** "Export this video."

## Do it yourself

Click **Export** at the top right of the editor. Yarn makes a 4K file, and you can keep working while it does.

### Download your file

A tray at the top right of the window shows how it's going: **Exporting**, then **Export Complete**.

1. Click **Download**. A save dialog opens in your Downloads folder.
2. Choose where to save it. The tray shows **Downloading**, then **Download Complete**.

To stop an export, click **Cancel**.

## If Export is grayed out

| Why | What to do |
| - | - |
| The project is empty. | Add something to the timeline first. |
| An export is still in the tray. | If it's still exporting, wait or click **Cancel**. If it's done, download it or close the tray. |

> [!TIP]
>
> If a video is still uploading when you export, it's left out and Yarn tells you which one. Export again once it finishes.
