# Screen recording settings

> Set the cursor, padding, shadow, sounds and zoom defaults for every screen recording in a project.

Set your look once, and every screen recording in the project follows it.

> The Agent can't change these settings yet, but they're all in one place.

Open the ⋯ menu next to the panel tabs and choose **Screen Recording Settings...**. Click **Done** when you're finished.

## Cursor

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Auto-Hide Cursor** | Hides the cursor when it isn't moving. |
| **Text Cursor** | Shows or hides the text cursor. |
| **Cursor Style** | Shows the cursor as an arrow (**Arrow-first**), a pointing hand (**Pointer-first**) or the way you recorded it (**Original**). |
| **Cursor Scale** | Makes the cursor bigger. |

## Screen Display

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Screen Window Padding** | Sets the space around the recorded window. |
| **Shadow Opacity**, **Shadow Blur**, **Shadow Spread** | Shape the window's shadow. |
| **Shadow X Offset** / **Shadow Y Offset** | Move the shadow. |

## Sound Effects

Turn on **Cursor Clicks** or **Keyboard Presses**, then choose how loud they are. See [Music and sound effects](https://docs.yarn.so/audio/music-and-sound.md).

## Visual Effects

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Entrance/Exit Animation** | Sets how screen recordings come in and go out. |
| **Motion Blur** | Softens fast movement, from **Off** to **High**. |
| **Default Zoom Type** | Starts new zooms as **Glide** or **Fixed**. |
| **Fixed Zoom Easing** | Sets how fixed zooms ease in and out. Shows when **Default Zoom Type** is Fixed. |
| **Default Zoom Level** | Sets how close new zooms get. |
