# Import videos

> Bring in footage from your computer, your Library or YouTube.

Already have footage? Bring it straight into your video.

**Ask the Agent:** Drag a video onto the Agent box, or click **+** to attach it, and say what to do with it: "Use this clip as the intro." Or paste a YouTube link: "Add this video at the start of scene 2."

## Do it yourself

### From your computer

1. Click **Add Image or Video**, or press I.
2. Pick something you've used recently, or upload a new .mp4, .webm or .mov file.

<video autoPlay muted loop playsInline src="https://mintcdn.com/yarn/5d87hh-DSpIitaVH/images/import-add-media.mp4?fit=max&auto=format&n=5d87hh-DSpIitaVH&q=85&s=2c4605aab353634df0bf5313100eeb13" aria-label="Clicking Add Image or Video on the insert bar: the popover opens with your recent images and videos, and the pointer rests on a recent video, then beside the upload button" />

If someone is talking to camera, Yarn imports it as a camera clip and their words appear in the **Script** tab. Anything else becomes a video clip.

### From your Library

Click **Library** at the right of the insert bar to open **Add from Library**.

![Add from Library open on the Screen Recordings tab, with a search box, a screen recording and Upload Video](https://mintcdn.com/yarn/5d87hh-DSpIitaVH/images/library-screen-recordings.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=5d87hh-DSpIitaVH\&q=85\&s=98f95fde93a4ce5d76c8e61ee3d215a8)

| To | Do this |
| - | - |
| Find something | Pick a tab, like **Screen Recordings** or **Projects**, or search. |
| Add it at the playhead | Click it. A project adds all its scenes. |
| Add a file for later | Click **Upload Video**. It goes into your Library, not onto the timeline. |
| Remove something | Click its ⋯ and choose **Delete**. |

### From YouTube

Copy a YouTube link and paste it anywhere in the editor outside a text box. A placeholder appears at the playhead and fills in once the video arrives.

### Adjust a video clip

Select a video clip to see its controls in the top bar.

| Control | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Timeline Clip** → **Graphics Video** | Puts the video inside an overlay. See [Images and video](https://docs.yarn.so/overlays/images-and-video.md). |
| **Corner Rounding** | Rounds the corners. |
| **Edit Trim** | Picks which part of the video plays. |
| **Convert to Camera** | Turns a video of someone talking into a camera clip. |
| **Mute** | Silences the clip. |
| **Playback Rate** | Speeds it up or slows it down, from 0.5× to 2.5×. |
| **Animations** | Sets how it comes in and goes out. |

> [!NOTE]
>
> If you export while a video is still uploading, it won't be in that export. Export again once it finishes.
