# Music and sound effects

> Add background music, click and keystroke sounds, and sound effects.

A little music and a few well-placed sounds make a demo feel finished.

**Ask the Agent:** "Add a whoosh when the title card slides in."

The Agent adds sound effects to animations, but it can't add music yet, so pick a track yourself.

## Do it yourself

### Add music

1. Click the music button (**Add Music**) at the top right of the editor.

2. Click **Upload background track** to add an MP3, WAV or M4A. Tracks you've added show up in this menu, so next time you can just pick one (hover its play icon to preview it).

3. To fit the track to your video, click the music button again, then click the remix button on your track (**Remix Music to Fit**).

To turn music off, open the same menu and choose **No background track**. It shows up there with your tracks.

To start every new project with the same track, set **Music Defaults** in your [Brand Kit](https://docs.yarn.so/workspace/brand-kit.md).

### Music settings

Open the ⋯ menu next to the panel tabs and choose **Music Settings...**.

| Control | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Volume** | Sets how loud the music is. |
| **Start at** / **End at** | Sets when the music plays. |
| **Trim start** | Skips the start of the track. |
| **Fade in** / **Fade out** | Eases the music in and out. |
| **Duck under speech** | Lowers the music while someone speaks. **Duck level** sets how quiet it gets. |
| **Remove Music** | Takes the track off. |

### Sound effects

For clicks and typing in every screen recording, open the ⋯ menu next to the panel tabs, choose **Screen Recording Settings...**, and turn on **Cursor Clicks** or **Keyboard Presses**.

For one screen recording, select it and click the speaker button (**Sound Effects**) in the top bar. Pick a sound for **Enter** or **Exit**, search, upload your own, or choose **No sound**.
